Panther Life Sciences has appointed Marcus “Mounir” Hanana as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

Founder Carlos Bhora will continue as executive chairman. He will work closely with Hanana as the company commercializes its SmartPatch platform for dermatology and aesthetic applications.

Hanana brings 25 years of global leadership experience from Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Amazon, spanning manufacturing, commercialization, technology, and operations. At P&G, he helped bring consumer products to market through manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial operations. At Amazon, he led global technology businesses, most recently serving as CFO of Amazon Business.

Panther Life Sciences is developing an intradermal drug-delivery platform using its SmartPatch technology to deliver therapeutics through the skin. Its AI-based platform supports product development and personalized treatment.

Comments from Panther execs

Bhola: “Beginning in late 2023 with a small, agile team, we combined innovations in skin biology with advanced engineering expertise to develop a delivery platform for next-generation treatments. We are now ready to deploy our SmartPatch, in 2027, which requires go-to-market and commercialization capabilities. We were intentional in our search for a partner with a track record of deploying global technology platforms, scaling manufacturing, and commercializing innovation—and we found that in Mounir. I am excited by what Panther will accomplish under Mounir’s direction and am looking forward to closely partnering with him.”

Hanana: “Having spent much of my career building and scaling global businesses, I know a category-defining opportunity when I see one. That is why I joined Panther. Our team has built a unique, powerful technology capable of transforming both consumer and medical markets. I am looking forward to partnering with Carlos as we build the operational foundation to bring this platform to consumers at scale.”
